Back
Maypole Primary School is celebrating a remarkable set of accolades, having achieved a full house of prestigious awards and recognition for standards reached through teaching and wellbeing. The school recently earned positive Ofsted Inspection outcomes, achieved Gold Status by UNICEF as a Rights Respecting School and received commendation from the Department of Education for their exceptional academic progress made for their disadvantaged pupils.
The recent Ofsted visit highlighted attendance and behaviour as a Strong Standard, stating, Leaders of the school have established a culture in which pupils are known and well cared for. Pupils' attitudes to learning and behaviour across the school are highly positive.
Member of Parliament for Dartford, Jim Dickson, visited the school on Thursday, 21st May, to join staff and pupils in celebrating their well-deserved successes and to present the new Gold Status Rights Respecting School banner. He commended the children for consistently asking intelligent and thoughtful questions during his visits and applauded the teachers and parents for their commitment to making the school a healthy environment where respect is at the heart of everything they do.
Liz Mitchell, CEO of the Inspire Academy Movement, commented, “This is such positive news and these accomplishments are a testament to the hard work and passion of the staff and pupils at Maypole Primary School."
Headteacher Shern Virdi, added, “We are incredibly proud of this achievement, which reflects the dedication and commitment of our staff, pupils and wider school community. The positive outcome from our recent Ofsted inspection, alongside achieving UNICEF Rights Respecting Gold status, recognises the strength of our provision in both academic standards and pupil wellbeing.
Shern continued, “It is especially pleasing to see this complemented by the progress our disadvantaged pupils are making. At Maypole Primary, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued and is empowered to succeed.”
Maypole Primary School looks forward to building on these successes and continuing to provide an exceptional education for every pupil.
