Maypole Pupil Wins Runner-Up Prize in KIMS Hospital Christmas Card Competition
Back
We are delighted to announce that Megan, a Year 6 pupil at Maypole, was awarded runner-up in the KIMS Hospital Christmas card competition. Megan received a £30 Amazon voucher, and our school received a £500 book voucher to spend on new books for our library!
Over 70 schools took part in the competition, with proceeds from the Christmas card sales, to support Holding on Letting Go, a Medway-based charity that helps bereaved children and young people across Kent and South East London.
We are incredibly proud of Megan's achievement and delighted to share her Christmas card design, which beautifully reflects our community ethos. Reflecting on her success, Megan said: “There was so much competition, and everyone's designs were very good. I felt so excited and shocked to hear I was a runner-up.
The inspiration for my design came from thinking about Christmas and community: people coming together to celebrate and enjoy each other. It took me quite a while to produc
e, as I kept coming up with different designs until I found the one, I really liked. My favourite part of the picture was the people holding hands.”
Megan shared that she looks forward to entering more competitions, especially as she moves on to secondary school.
Congratulations to Megan and to all the children who participated in this year’s KIMS Hospital Christmas card competition.
